Zodiacal releasing Pro

A technique from Vettius Valens' Anthology (2nd century). Life divides into sign periods, starting from the sign of the Lot of Spirit (career, actions) or the Lot of Fortune (body, circumstances).

Settings

• “from Spirit” or “from Fortune”: which lot to release from;
• “year”: “360 days (Valens, Brennan)” by default, or “365.25 days”.

What it shows

1. The current chain: L1 (years), L2 (months), L3 (days), L4 (hours), with peak and loosing-of-the-bond marks.
2. A bar of L1 and L2 from age 0 to 100. Color marks peaks, and a vertical line marks today.
3. Tables: L1 → L2 → L3 of the current L2 → L4 of the current L3.

Terms

• A sign's period equals the minor years of its ruler: Aries 15, Taurus 8, Gemini 20, Cancer 25, Leo 19, Virgo 20, Libra 8, Scorpio 15, Sagittarius 12, Capricorn 27, Aquarius 30, Pisces 12.
• Each level is 12 times shorter than the one above: L2 runs 30 days per year, L3 2.5 days, L4 5 hours.
• Loosing of the bond (LB): the sub-periods have gone through all 12 signs while the parent period is still running. The count then jumps to the sign opposite the starting one.
• Peaks are signs angular to Fortune. The 10th from Fortune is the main peak, the 1st strong, the 7th moderate, the 4th weak.
